Neal was selected for the honor by confidential votes of his peers. The announcement of the 2019 list was made on Aug. 15 by The Best Lawyers in America, the oldest and most respected peer-review publication in the legal profession. Attorneys aren’t allowed to pay any fee to participate or to be included in such a list, which is merit-based.

Earlier this year, Neal also was named a Super Lawyer by Super Lawyers, a third-party legal ratings service which chooses the top lawyers who have a high degree of peer recognition, professional achievement and practice excellence. By being chosen for the 2018 Texas Super Lawyers list, Neal is among only 5 percent of Texas attorneys to have achieved this honor.
Along with being recognized by The Best Lawyers in America (2015-2022) and Super Lawyers (2011-2019), Neal has also received an AV rating in Martindale-Hubbell (2015), a longtime and respected legal directory which has provided a guide to find and research attorneys since 1868. Its decisions are based on merit reviews by peers, clients and judges.
